Fluffy French Bulldog puppies
What is a fluffy French Bulldog?
‘Fluffy’ is a breeder term for a long-haired French Bulldog. It is a coat type, not a colour, and the breed standard calls for a short coat. Genetically, it comes from two copies of a recessive long-hair variant in the FGF5 gene (l/l).
Also called long-haired.

The genetics
Genotypel/l (FGF5)
Both parents must carry the long-hair variant for a fluffy puppy. The coat gene works independently of colour, so a fluffy can be lilac, blue, isabella or any other colour.
Appearance
A soft, slightly wavy coat that is longest on the ears, chest and tail.

Apply for the waitlistColour and the breed standard
The FCI breed standard for the French Bulldog recognises fawn, brindle and pied. Colours such as blue, lilac, isabella, chocolate and merle, and the long-haired fluffy coat, fall outside the standard, and some have been linked to health concerns, such as colour dilution alopecia in dilute dogs or deafness in double merles. We are open about this. It is why we never pair two merle dogs, why every parent’s full results are published, and why health and temperament decide each pairing, never colour alone.

How do I care for a fluffy French Bulldog’s coat?
Brush two to three times a week with a soft slicker brush and a comb, paying extra attention to the ears, chest and tail where the hair is longest. Keep the hair between the paw pads trimmed and dry the coat well after rain or a bath.
Do fluffy French Bulldogs shed more?
They shed roughly as much as other French Bulldogs, but the longer hair is more visible. Regular brushing keeps loose hair under control.
How much does a fluffy French Bulldog cost?
Our fluffy French Bulldog puppies start from €9,000. The price of an individual puppy depends on its confirmed genetics and sex and is shown on the puppy’s page.
Can I choose the colour of my puppy?
You tell us your preferred colour when you apply. Colour can vary within a litter, so we match puppies by temperament and home first and tell you honestly which colours a planned litter can produce.
