Isabella French Bulldog puppies
What is a isabella French Bulldog?
‘Isabella’ is a breeder term, not a colour recognised by the breed standard. Breeders use it for the dilution gene (d/d) combined with B-locus brown (b/b). Our isabella lines also carry cocoa (co/co), which gives the palest, pearly shade.
Sometimes called ‘new shade isabella’.

The genetics
Genotyped/d + b/b (+ co/co in our lines)
Isabella needs recessive genes from both parents at two or three loci, which is why isabella litters are planned long in advance. Names vary between breeders, so we always show the actual DNA result rather than relying on the colour name.
Appearance
A pale, pearly lilac with a warm undertone and light eyes. Often described as the lightest of the dilute colours.
Variations

Isabella with tan points on the face, chest and legs.

Isabella with a long, soft coat.
Current isabella puppies and litters
There are no isabella puppies to present right now. Upcoming litters are placed through our waitlist, usually before birth.
Apply for the waitlistColour and the breed standard
The FCI breed standard for the French Bulldog recognises fawn, brindle and pied. Colours such as blue, lilac, isabella, chocolate and merle, and the long-haired fluffy coat, fall outside the standard, and some have been linked to health concerns, such as colour dilution alopecia in dilute dogs or deafness in double merles. We are open about this. It is why we never pair two merle dogs, why every parent’s full results are published, and why health and temperament decide each pairing, never colour alone.

Are isabella French Bulldogs healthy?
Colour on its own does not decide health, but dilute colours such as isabella carry a known risk of colour dilution alopecia (CDA): thinning hair and flaky skin, usually from young adulthood and mainly in the dilute areas. Not every dilute dog is affected, and there is no DNA test that predicts it. We breed from parents with sound coats and skin and publish every parent’s test results.
What is the difference between isabella and lilac?
Both are dilute brown colours. Lilac usually combines dilution with one brown gene; isabella combines dilution with B-locus brown, in our lines together with cocoa, which makes it paler. Because breeders use the names differently, every puppy’s actual DNA result is shared with you.
How much does a isabella French Bulldog cost?
Our isabella French Bulldog puppies start from €7,500. The price of an individual puppy depends on its confirmed genetics and sex and is shown on the puppy’s page.
Can I choose the colour of my puppy?
You tell us your preferred colour when you apply. Colour can vary within a litter, so we match puppies by temperament and home first and tell you honestly which colours a planned litter can produce.
